How to Brew & Enjoy a Beautiful Cup or Pot of Herbal Tea

Brewing tea can become a ritual and meditative sensual experience of the senses - visually, tactile (feel) olfactory (smell), and gustatory (taste). Take time out for yourself to enjoy all there is to offer in the experience.

To make a cup, or pot, of herbal tea you will need the following:

  • a tea infuser, fabric tea bag, coffee filter, or mesh strainer

  • herbal tea

  • a cup or pot

  • hot water

To Make an Individual Cup of Tea

Add 1-2 teaspoons (according to the strength you enjoy). Add tea to your infuser, tea bag, or filter (tie your filter with a string to keep the tea inside) and place it inside your cup. Add hot water and steep for at least 5 minutes.

If you are using a strainer, add the tea directly to your cup and then add hot water. Let the leaves steep in the water for at least 5 minutes and then pour the tea through the strainer into another cup.

To Make a Pot of Tea

Add 2-3 Tablespoons (according to the strength you enjoy) of tea to your infuser, tea bag, or filter (tie your filter with a string to keep the tea inside) and place in inside your teapot. Add hot water and steep for at least 5 minutes.

If you are using a strainer add the tea directly to your pot. Let the leaves steep for at least 5 minutes and then pour the tea through the strainer into another pot or into individual cups.

Tea Tips

  • If you are unsure of how much tea to add, start with the smaller amount of tea, you can always add more later.

  • There is not need to remove the infuser, tea bag, or filter, the tea will not become bitter.

  • Heat your water, but not quite to boiling.

  • If you purchased tea in a jar with a wooden spoon, the spoon is 1/2 teaspoon,

  • Take the time to enjoy all of your senses: the color, aroma, and taste of your tea.

  • Teas can be enjoyed hot, room temperature, chilled, or over ice.

  • Sweeten with Morningstar raw honey

We hope you enjoy our herbal tea as much as we enjoyed the process of organically cultivating it and then lovingly picking, drying, and blending it. Our bees enjoyed it too :)
